Thi Ha Lan Nguyen
Postdoctoral Researcher
Dr. Lan Nguyen is a lecturer in the Faculty of Sociology at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (USSH), Vietnam National University (Hanoi). After earning her Bachelor’s degree in sociology from the Academy of Journalism and Communication (Ha Noi, Viet Nam), she worked as a researcher at Vietnam’s Institute of Sociology (1999-2006), Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics (2007-2018) and Hanoi University of Social Sciences (2017-present). Dr. Lan received her master's degree from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology University in 2013 and obtained her PhD in sociology at Vietnam National University in 2019. Dr Lan’s research focuses on both internal and international migration. She has participated in several studies on rural-to-urban migration and international labour migration in Vietnam. She is also interested in environment issues such as environmental disaster and climate change affecting vulnerable groups (for example resettlement people and ethnic minorities).
In the AspirE project, together with her team Dr. Lan’s main role is to collect and analysis qualitative data, policy analysis and report writing regarding WP2, WP3, WP5 and WP7.
