Chaitawat Boonjubun

Chaitawat Boonjubun is a postdoctoral researcher. He received a Doctor of Social Sciences (Social and Public Policy – Urban Studies) from the University of Helsinki, an MSc in Gender from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), and a Master’s in Cultures and Development Studies from the KU Leuven. Chaitawat’s research interests include transnational migration, labour protection and social dialogue, land rights, poverty and informality, and gender and intersectional analysis. He has worked as a project coordinator for the Social Dialogue in Defence of Vulnerable Groups in Post-COVID-19 Labour Markets (DEFEN-CE), an EU-level research project funded by the Directorate-General for Employment, the European Commission (2021-2023). Before joining the AspirE project, Chaitawat worked for the Alternatives to Private Landownership, a research project funded by the Academy of Finland (2019-2021). He was a programme officer for the UN Women Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific. Chaitawat is currently a member of the international editorial advisory board of Housing Studies journal and the editorial board of the Just Ecological Political Economy (JEPE), the Global South theme of the Helsinki Institute of Sustainability Science (HELSUS).

For the AspirE project, as a postdoctoral researcher, Chaitawat’s tasks focus on, but are not limited to, WP3 and WP4.
