Finland findings presented at AAG's Annual Meeting

From 24 to 28 March, Chris participated in the Annual Meeting of the American Association of Geographers (AAG) in Detroit, USA.

Under the theme “Making Spaces of Possibility”, AAG 2025 invited scholars to reflect on how geography can help imagine and enact more equitable worlds. In this context, Chaitawat Boonbjubun presented his paper entitled (Re)migration aspirations of Asian migrants in Europe: A case study of Thai migrants picking wild berries and mushrooms in Finland. His presentation explored the aspirations and mobility trajectories of Thai migrants engaged in seasonal wild-berry and mushroom picking, shedding light on how temporary labor mobility shapes longer-term (re)migration plans and imaginaries within Europe.

Through his contribution and participation in discussions throughout the week, Chaitawat engaged with international scholars on questions of migration, mobility, and spatial justice, themes that align closely with the conference’s call to imagine and create more equitable spaces of possibility.
