Film screening and discussion on migration at Tampere University

20 March 2026

On 17 March 2026, Mari Korpela (the Principal Investigator of AspirE's Finland-based team), together with social sciences students at Tampere University, organised the film screening of "Blood Berries" by Isaan Record.

The programme began with an introduction by Dr. Korpela, who presented the AspirE project and highlighted key research findings from the Tampere team. Her presentation provided important context for understanding the lived experiences explored in the film. Following the screening, participants took part in an open and engaging discussion. The conversation reflected on the issues raised in "Blood Berries", connecting them to broader questions of migration, labour, and everyday life, which are central themes within AspirE’s research.

The event offered a valuable opportunity to bridge academic insights with visual storytelling, fostering dialogue between students and researchers on migration realities.
