As part of the AspirE project’s commitment to transparency, methodological rigor, and knowledge sharing, a set of key data collection tools developed for our fieldwork is now available. These include instruments for conducting interviews with migrants and experts, social network mapping protocols, and guidelines for focus group discussions.

All tools have been developed through a collaborative process, involving extensive internal discussions and consultations across the consortium. Importantly, they have undergone rigorous review by institutional Data Protection Officers (DPOs), particularly at the coordinating institution, to ensure full compliance with data protection standards and ethical requirements. In addition, partners have implemented context-specific adaptations to reflect local legal frameworks, cultural sensitivities, and research conditions. Prior to the start of fieldwork, these instruments were formally submitted to the relevant ethical review boards and committees across participating institutions. Ethics approvals were obtained in line with national and institutional regulations, ensuring that all data collection activities adhere to the highest standards of research integrity, participant protection, and confidentiality.

By making these materials available, AspirE aim to support further research, encourage methodological reflection, and facilitate responsible data collection practices in migration studies and beyond
