Published on 5 June 2024

Migration is a dynamic phenomenon shaped by ever-changing policies and legal frameworks. In this article published in the Vietnam Journal of Sociology (ISSN 2615-9171), the authors based in the IS-VASS delve into a research study funded by the European Commission, which sheds light on the migration patterns of Vietnamese citizens to six EU countries—Belgium, the Czech Republic, Finland, Germany, Italy, and Portugal.
Through qualitative analysis and secondary data, this article uncovers how visa policies and national laws influence migration behaviors and pathways. It also identifies critical gaps in policy coherence and data availability, offering insights into improving migration management between Vietnam and the EU.
