Published on 8 May 2026

In our previous episodes, we explored Work Package 4 (WP4), one of the AspirE project’s key empirical components, and its main findings based on video diaries collected across Asia and Europe, as well as focus group discussions with migration experts.

This final episode of the series shifts the focus to policy recommendations. We welcome Sofia Gaspar, Principal Investigator at ISCTE – University Institute of Lisbon, who guides us through the key insights emerging from AspirE’s policy briefs. Drawing on the findings from the video diaries, we first discuss the policy recommendations outlined in Policy Brief 5, highlighting how migrants’ lived experiences can inform more grounded and responsive policymaking. We then turn to Policy Brief 6, which builds on a series of two-step focus group discussions with migration experts across Asia and Europe, offering complementary recommendations based on expert perspectives.

🎧 Listen to Episode 4, which presents these two strands of evidence as providing a comprehensive foundation for rethinking migration policies across regions.
